At The Doctor Clinics, we make it simple to access expert medical care quickly and discreetly. Our services include same-day private GP appointments in Manchester, secure online video consultations, home visits, and in-clinic consultations at our Prestwich practice.

Our experienced doctors provide safe and personalised care, whether you need fast access to private treatment, support with ADHD assessments and treatment, or help with a wide range of health concerns.

With flexible appointment options, you can choose what works best for you – the convenience of a same-day video consultation, the reassurance of seeing a doctor in person, or the comfort of a home visit.

All doctors at The Doctor Clinics are fully GMC-registered GPs with extensive experience in private healthcare. Our team provides expert medical care through online GP video consultations, in-clinic appointments, and private home visits, ensuring safe and personalised treatment tailored to your needs.

Video consultations at The Doctor Clinics are designed for minor ailments only. These include common conditions such as urinary tract infections (UTIs), coughs, colds, sore throats, sinus issues, skin rashes, acne, and other straightforward medical concerns. For more complex or ongoing health problems, we recommend booking an in-clinic appointment so your GP can carry out a full assessment.

Our online GP consultations are delivered through secure video technology, giving you fast and convenient access to a private doctor from the comfort of your home. Simply book your virtual appointment online and one of our experienced GPs will connect with you for a comprehensive video consultation.

During your consultation, the doctor can carry out a visual assessment, discuss your symptoms, and provide a personalised treatment plan. Private treatment plans and same-day medical advice/documentation are also included as part of our virtual GP service.

You can contact The Doctor Clinics by calling our support team on 0330 111 0181 or by emailing us at hello@thedoctorclinics.co.uk. For in-person visits, our clinic is located in Prestwich Village, Manchester.

Most patients prefer to book online because it’s fast, clear, and shows real-time availability with our Manchester-based doctors. If you’d like a little help, our Concierge Team is also available to guide you through the process.

Whether you’re looking for a “private GP near me,” urgent medical advice, or a routine check-up, our online system makes it easy to get seen without delays.

Registering with a private GP in the UK is simple. At The Doctor Clinics, you don’t need to complete long forms or go through a formal registration process — you can book an appointment whenever you need us. Most patients just choose their preferred service online, pick a time, and attend the consultation. We look after the rest.

There’s no need to leave your NHS GP or move your records. We work alongside your usual practice, and with your permission we can send a summary of your visit so your medical notes stay up to date.

For many people looking for a “private GP near me,” this flexibility is the main benefit: fast access, no waiting lists, and a doctor who has the time to go through everything properly. If you’d like support getting started, our Concierge Team is always happy to help.

In Manchester, private GP prices usually range anywhere from £60 to £150 depending on the appointment length and the level of service you choose. At The Doctor Clinics, we keep our pricing clear and straightforward so patients know exactly what they’re paying for.

A brief express appointment starts from £89, our standard 30-minute consultation is £129, and video appointments are available from £50. These options give you fast access to an experienced doctor without long waits or hidden fees. Many patients choose us because they want a “private GP near me” with transparent pricing and same-day availability.

All services can be booked online, and if you’re unsure which consultation is right for you, our Concierge Team is always happy to advise.

Yes — private GPs can prescribe controlled drugs in the UK, but only when it is clinically appropriate and done under strict regulatory guidelines. At The Doctor Clinics, controlled medicines are prescribed cautiously, following a full assessment and with the correct legal documentation in place. Some medications, such as those used in ADHD treatment, may also require specialist psychiatric input before a prescription can be issued.

Where necessary, and with your permission, we will also update your NHS GP so your medical records stay accurate and safe. If you have questions about controlled medications or whether they may be suitable for your condition, our doctors can guide you during your consultation.

Yes — a private GP can make an NHS referral, and many patients choose this route when they need fast assessment and clear guidance. At The Doctor Clinics, we regularly write referral letters for NHS services, including hospital specialists, imaging, and community teams. The NHS provider then decides on acceptance based on clinical need and local pathways, but the referral itself is fully valid.

Most patients appreciate this because it avoids delays: you’re seen quickly by our doctor, you get a detailed referral letter, and we can also copy your NHS GP so your records stay accurate. If you’re unsure whether your situation is suitable for an NHS referral, your doctor will explain all your options during the consultation.

Private GPs don’t have automatic access to your NHS medical records. However, with your permission, we can request the information we need from your NHS GP — for example, previous results, medication history, or important letters. Many patients also choose to share screenshots or documents from the NHS App during their appointment, which is perfectly acceptable for clinical decision-making.

At The Doctor Clinics, we always make sure your care remains safe and joined-up. After your consultation, and only with your consent, we can send a summary back to your NHS GP so your records stay accurate. This means you get the best of both worlds: fast private care without losing continuity within the NHS.

Yes — a private GP can issue a sick note. At The Doctor Clinics, we provide medical certificates for work, university, and travel after a proper clinical assessment. These private fit notes are fully valid for employers, even though they are not the same as the NHS “Med3” form.

Most patients choose this option when they need a same-day appointment or can’t get a timely review with their NHS GP. We can issue the certificate during your visit or video consultation, and, if needed, we can email it to you the same day.

If you’re unsure what type of note you need, our doctors or Concierge Team can guide you.

Private GPs can prescribe Mounjaro (tirzepatide), but only when it is clinically appropriate and safe to do so. In the UK, Mounjaro is licensed for type 2 diabetes, and its use for weight loss is tightly regulated. Before prescribing, a doctor must complete a full medical assessment, review your history, check for contraindications, and ensure that prescribing meets current national guidelines.

At The Doctor Clinics, we follow strict medical and regulatory standards. If Mounjaro is suitable, our doctors can prescribe it privately through an approved pharmacy. If it isn’t the right option — or if alternative treatments may be safer — we will explain this clearly during your consultation.

Patients often book with us because they want fast access to an experienced private GP in Manchester who can discuss weight-related medication options in a responsible, evidence-based way. If you’re unsure whether Mounjaro is appropriate for you, we can guide you during your appointment.

Private GPs cannot issue NHS prescriptions. All private GPs in the UK must prescribe on private prescription forms, which are paid for privately at the pharmacy. However, if you need ongoing NHS prescriptions, we can write a detailed clinical summary for your NHS GP so they can consider taking over prescribing within NHS guidelines.

At The Doctor Clinics, many patients choose this approach: they see us quickly for assessment and treatment planning, then — with their permission — we send a clear letter to their NHS doctor to support safe continuation of care. Your NHS GP will always make the final decision on whether a medication can be transferred to an NHS prescription.

If you’re unsure how this works or what the costs may be, our doctors can guide you during your consultation.

Private GPs can prescribe diazepam, but at The Doctor Clinics we very rarely do so. Medications in the benzodiazepine family — such as diazepam — carry risks of dependence, tolerance, and withdrawal, so we only consider them in exceptional, medically-justified situations and never for long-term use.

If a patient needs help with anxiety, sleep, or stress-related symptoms, we normally explore safer and more effective alternatives first. This may include short-term non-addictive medications, lifestyle guidance, or referral to psychological support where appropriate. If diazepam is genuinely required — for example, around a specific medical procedure — a doctor would make that decision only after a full assessment.

Many patients book with us because they want sensible, responsible prescribing from an experienced private GP in Manchester. If you’re unsure what treatment is suitable for your situation, our doctors can guide you during your consultation.
